About oven & appliance cleaning

Tenants book an oven clean when it is on their check-out list, and landlords book one before new tenants arrive. Households book it when the oven has started to smoke or the door glass has gone brown. Keen cooks with a range cooker or AGA that is used every day book it too.

The cleaner degreases the oven cavity and door glass, then soaks and scrubs the racks and removable trays. Removable side panels are cleaned where the model allows, and manufacturer guidance on taking the door apart varies between models. You can add a gas or ceramic hob, an extractor hood with its metal filters washed, a microwave, or the inside of a fridge freezer.

Before the visit, let the oven cool fully and take pans and trays out of it. Empty a fridge freezer you want cleaned, and defrost the freezer if it needs it. Note the make and type: single, double, range or AGA. Report any fault, such as a loose door or a smell of gas, because repairs and disconnection are not part of the job.
